Our Educational Project:
Bilingual, Active and
Eco-Citizenship-Oriented
At Lily School Paris 15ᵗʰ, a bilingual and community-based preschool (ages 2–6), we offer a gentle immersion:
two days in French / two days in English, following active pedagogies (Montessori, Freinet, Decroly).
Bilingual Immersion: A Natural and Fast Learning Experience
At Lily School Paris 15ᵗʰ, a bilingual preschool for children aged 2 to 6, we combine gentle immersion in French and English (2 days / 2 days) with active pedagogies inspired by Montessori, Freinet, and Decroly.
In small class sizes and a caring environment, each child develops emotional awareness and autonomy, explores arts and sciences, cooperates, and learns at their own pace. From the vegetable garden to recycling, from creative workshops to scientific experiments, we nurture curious, creative, and open-minded eco-citizens.
A child has the right to make mistakes; it is through trial and error and experience that they build their understanding of the world.
Emotions: Recognising, Naming, Expressing... and Learning to Manage Them
Learning to recognise emotions, name them, express them appropriately, channel them, and manage them is a process that takes time. Emotions play a key role in developing social skills. A good understanding of one’s emotions allows children to express, manage, and channel them.
We work on this through a variety of educational approaches and tools.
Learning Freely: Experiment, Choose, Grow… Be Independent!
Independence allows children to make choices, take responsibility, and thrive in the world around them. We guide children through daily learning activities using cooperative games that help them develop communication skills, problem-solving, the joy of playing with others, self-confidence, sharing, patience, and listening.
For Maria Montessori, experiencing autonomy is not just play — it’s meaningful work that enables the child to grow.
We allow each child to have their own experiences, choose their activities, and move freely within the classroom.

Growing as Eco-Citizens: Sorting, Reusing, Protecting Life
Every day with our pupils, we practise eco-friendly habits such as recycling and sorting waste. We drink from reusable bottles, observe flowers in the park without picking them up, sponsor endangered animals, and treat water as a precious treasure.
Since 2019, we have been proudly certified as an Eco-School, and this year again, we earned the Gold Level Label.
Curious Minds: From the Classroom Lab to the Solar System
Observing, touching, smelling, seeing, listening — all senses are on alert during our daily scientific experiments. By making hypotheses, testing them, and exploring freely, children learn the scientific method through hands-on discovery.
Philippe, an astrophysicist at the Paris Observatory, regularly comes to lead workshops about the solar system and its wonders. So many exciting discoveries!

Universal Language: Art to Imagine and Express Oneself
Art lies at the heart of our learning — it is a universal language that never leaves anyone indifferent. Children discover artists from around the world and recreate their works using a variety of materials: paint, pencils, oil pastels, and clay.
This helps them develop their imagination, creativity, and fine motor skills.
