Our school

Our school We welcome children from 2 to 6 years old in a complete bilingual environment. We do follow the recommandations of the French Ministry of Education and of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to allow the children to join both education systems once they leave our school. Our teaching is organized as follows: on Mondays and Tuesdays classes are taught in French on Thursdays and Fridays classes are taught in English. The children are in a full immersion. They learn both languages living them, experimenting the language daily, interacting with the adults that surround them and they can then develop their language and cognitive skills. Each class has a number of maximum 16 children supervised by at least 2 teachers. The last year of the preschool in order to celebrate the end of the cycle the children will go for a pedagogical trip in Great Britain with their teachers. Areas of learning The areas of learning are: communication and language physical development personal, social and emotional development literacy mathematics understanding the world expressive arts and design

Kids' Corner

Lily International Kid’s Corner is our bilingual day care center opens on Wednesdays and during school breaks (Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer). It offers workshops of visual arts, music, theater supervised by a native English and French speaking team.Summer program Week of July 8th music is queen with Jazz: Jazz, originating from the South of the United States, has not stopped developing since the end of the 19th century. Based on the principle of improvisation, it uses certain scales and methods. In our workshops, we will learn about the famous blue note and will work on rhythm (such a key part of jazz): Polyrhythmia, syncope and shuffle will be some of the terms heard and practised by children as they "swing" together... We will encourage them to improvise, by showing them the techniques needed. Not forgetting the instruments; we'll be presenting the famous saxophone, trumpet, trombone, clarinet, drums and piano, as well as others less well known in the jazz world. We'll also be using percussion instruments to work on accompaniment and rhythm. We will listen to and analyse great Jazz artists including, Ella Fitzgerald, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, etc. We'll learn about Gospel music, after an explanation of the origin of this style, we will sing one or two famous songs whilst working on our voices, polyphony and body percussion. Finally, rhythmic, melodic and corporal games will complete this introduction to jazz.. Week of July 15th:museums and arts Week of July22nd: science, gardening an plastic arts.

Intergenerational

In partnership with the EHPAD Orpea Castagnary (Retirement Home), Lily School Paris offers monthly meetings with the eldery. These intergenerational exchanges are very important as they allow the eldery to transmit their life experience to our pupils in order to maintain a link between the generations and then demonstrate the benefit of these workshops for both the eldery and the young children.
